How to read a birth chart
Think of the chart as a sentence: planets show what is acting, signs describe how that energy may express itself, and houses point to the life area. Aspects describe how chart themes relate to one another.

Signs · how it expresses
A zodiac sign gives a planet a style: for example, cautious, quick, steady or expressive. The same planetary symbol is read differently in different signs.
Houses · where it appears
A house links a placement to an area of life. The house number on the chart suggests where a planet's symbolic theme may be explored.

Aspects · how themes connect
Lines between planets mark angular relationships. A conjunction combines themes, a trine is traditionally linked with ease, a square with tension and effort, and an opposition with finding balance. This is a symbolic tradition, not a measure of personality or events.
Venus in Leo in the 7th house: themes of affection and values (Venus) take a warm, expressive style (Leo) in partnerships (7th house). Use it as a prompt for reflection, not a prediction.
Celestial positions are calculated astronomically. Meanings assigned to signs, houses and aspects are symbolic astrological interpretations and are not scientifically validated.
